In fact you can tell theyre loved and very well looked after but why on earth spend so much on dog clothes  I can't help but think it would be better to put it into a welfare charity or something. Obv its their own money to spend as they like but I can't help feel sorry for the dogs being paraded around in some of those outfits :D

FFS:mad:

Why can' they just be dogs?:rolleyes:

My two can think themselves lucky they had a new bed bought for them and Max got a new fleecey coat for when they are abandoned in the car after a walk while I go to the pub for lunch:D:D:D Other then that I went mad and bought them some rawhide chews for a treat.......:D:D:D:D

.. and i thought i was bad dressing Barney up in his little red coat!

(I think its the "why couldn't you just buy the black one?!" look that cracks me up :p)

She's been all over the papers and telly before, think the story has just been updated for some reason. She's an excellent self-publicist.
She admits herself they are substitute kids, I feel a wee bit sorry for her TBH :( but it's her life, her money, a wee donation to bulldog welfare would not go amiss I am sure.

Couldn't agree more - it's not harming anyone and she obviously has a need for something in her life.

(and personally, never mind the dogs, I'd love to be that well looked after )

if it makes her happy.......

My dog is spoilt....but not £15,000 a year and never dresses her up in stupid clothes.

She does go out in a coat....but she NEEDS it. Wouldnt put her in a frilly skirt, sheesh..

They say people look like their dogs/pets... I can see this reassembling here! lol
on another note, poor dogs, but at least they are not been beaten/abandoned or starved.

Did have a chuckle when I scrolled down and saw the dogs!!

Not as bad a program I saw on channel 4 about 5 yrs ago, at 9pm!! where people were marrying their pets and having full on relationships with them!! this woman and her Golden Retriever ................. GROSS!!!!! Did anyone see it?? nobody else in my circle of friends did, I sometimes wonder if I imagined it!!

Well the fact she dosnt have children says it all.:(

Don't mean to be controversial, but I chose not to have kids and my pets are the closest I have to that: they are definite substitutes, although they are obviously dogs! :D I don't dress them up, but they are definitely spoilt, in a nice way. (I counted thirteen dog toys in the lounge yesterday :o)

I did say she was an excellent self-publicist **cough cough**

Sorry but 9/10 animal stories in the papers are worth doing a bit of research on - cute animals sell papers and products!

Fair play to her if it makes her money and her dogs are well looked after, but don't dress puff /advertising up as news!
(Not getting at you, OP :))

Sorry CC but she breeds her dogs for financial gain and not content with that she also wants to make money from encouraging others to breed their 'precious' dogs. If it's not backstreet breeders who couldn't give a stuff, its deluded people like Karen Chamberlain who maintains her dogs are like her children - yeah right - that is contributing to dogs being treated less than dogs. Either physically abused or neglected or dressed up and pampered like a childs doll.

Rant over. Happy New Year.:D

This I think it is really sad that she didnt/couldnt have kids. :(

Obviously different if she chose not to have them, but I bet she didnt.

CT- I reckon your boys would look great in tutu;s LOL

I chose not to.

My boys in tutus? I would love to do that in the woods! I reckon they'd divest themselves of those in under 3 minutes! Bear would probably eat his and Zak would spook at it. Brig would tolerate but give me the  look.

maybe a bit off thread here but did anyone else see the programme about woman with the lifelike baby dolls?
I really struggled with that!

So long as the dogs are healthy and happy, why should it matter to anyone else what she does? so she's eccentric, who cares.

I didnt mean it in a nasty way. My sisters dogs are her child substitutes - she was desperate for kids but developed cancer and is now infertile. She doesnt dress them in hot pink tutus tho (or Id have to disown her  ) It just seems excessive to spend that much. I love my dog but he has the odd chew and I stick the rest into the collection bin for the animal shelter. As I said its her money to spend as she wishes but when you have that much to spend on dogs then to me it makes sense to give some of it to ones who arent loved yet :)

How much is too much to spend on your dog?, what someone thinks is excessive another person would spend more.Personally dressing up dogs is not for me I like my dogs to be dogs but if anyone wants to do it thats up to them. I would rather see the money spent on supporting a rescue but its their money and they can do what they like with it.

Luckyoldme I did see that programme and it was very strange but also very sad, they were indeed child substitutes.
