I absolutely love imaginary horse shopping, looking at ads online and thinking about which horse/s I would buy now if I was in a position to do so. I’m sure I’m not alone! I thought it would be fun to share the ads of our pretend future steeds. Show me your ideal next horse! ?

- please no negativity (criticism of ads, conformation etc.), it’s just for fun

- ignore the prices ?

- ideally horses which you would realistically choose now if you had the space/time for them (ie. not Valegro sorts unless you ride at that level)

In my case, I would love to have something on the cobby side of around 15-15.2hh max for hacking. I’ve owned and ridden a lot of horses now (as a happy hacker/trail rider) and no longer see the need for a big horse, as long as one can carry me comfortably. I would love one day to have a horse ridden bitless and with a western saddle and to go off exploring and bird watching with them.

I’ve seen some gorgeous cob types on Horsequest lately but they sell fast and ads get removed. This girl looks lovely though and I would love to go exploring with her! http://www.horsequest.co.uk/advertisment/300678

Who would you buy?

I have always wanted a bay roan, my very first pony was a bay roan New Forest and I adored her. I have neither the time or space for another horse at the moment, (and am cautious about adding any more mouths to feed in the current economic climate) but I keep going back to look at this ad....

The link takes me to a saddle as the top result and then a list of other ads, but now I’m desperate to see who you have fallen in love with ?

Have sorted it - I hope! Edited to add, it only works if you go back to my original comment.

Oh wow, lovely! I can see why you keep looking at that one again! ?

I saw both the top ones while perusing but I also saw a couple of bigger nice types ? I am not sure if the 18.2 is a typo it certainly doesn’t look that big

Both great finds! I agree the second one doesn’t look that big though!

Big stamp of a mannerly, hunter - yes please.

I know I said I wouldn’t have a big horse… well, this ad makes me think I’ve probably lied ? Dreamy!

Ooh she’s a beauty! I wonder what she’ll look like when mature.

This one keeps catching my eye on FB…..although it’s a competent show jumper and I’m really not.

A beauty, what a lovely head. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind not jumping. ?

I dont know where I'd find them or if they even exist, but I want 4 smallish, probably 12.2hh leopard spotted ponies. Very dainty show pony types, for me to do trick training and liberty work and to do that crazy driving you see where its just a mad gallop with people hanging off the side. I'd probably end up dead in reality, and the thought of 4 more ponies makes me feel a bit ill! But if we are playing fantasy pony shopping then obviously I have won the lottery, have staff and have become a super talented trainer and driving person :D

Absolutely reasonable if you ask me. We’ve got one spotty mini you can have? I wouldn’t call him dainty but he would drag you around a bit if you like ?
