Just wondering if anyone has a similar problem or potential problem and any advice on the way foward re exercise and supplements that may help . I have a 17.3 in I/D T/B who is 16 now has been there and done it all in the past but now i school him a couple of times a week hack a couple of times and lunge him , occasionally jumping . As a baby of 4 he suffered a horrific injury to his left hoof and fetlock after being caught in barbed wire , he was nearly p.t.s at the time but eventually recovered . The issue is that he now seems to favour the right front and this affects his hoof growth , he seems a lot stiffer when he has jumped ( i have knocked that on the head at present ) and my farrier is convinced that he wiil go lame on it in the fullness of time . I am wondering what i can do to prolong his working life and keep him sound

Glucosamine is a good one for the stiffness,

My welsh A was caught in barbed wire as a yearling, he's now 12 going on 30

He is fed glucosamine in Winter. I think if we carry on having such shite summers he will have it all year
