I am struggling to get on top of my horse's latest attack of uveitis and my vet has mentioned the possibility of implants that secrete drugs to control the inflammation.

Has anyone had this operation or knows someone else who has? How much does the operation cost?

All info appreciated

My boy has recurrent uveitis and this was suggested to me for him. Because of his age (36yrs) i thought i would persavere with treatments. He has maxitrol eye drops when he has a bout, wears a fly mask and has asprin once a day. If its really bad i administer maxitrol 3 times a day with 2 bute (this is under my vets advice). He has flare ups all year round but after a couple of days he settles down. I really didnt want him to have surgery because of his age

Thanks spottydottypony. My vet has given me steroid drops which after 4 days have finally got on top of this flare up that has lasted 4 weeks. I have used maxitrol in the past but it didn't work for my boy.
