Please, please head over to my blog for my latest post regarding a congenital C6 C7 defect in Thoroughbred and Thoroughbred Derivatives. It is estimated that 4 in 10 Thoroughbreds and Derivatives world wide are affected.

I posted it in this area and not the Vet area because although it is a vet issue, it also has the potential to be dangerous to riders of any and every level across multiple disciplines and professions. I have permission to post it on my blog but not on forums, so please do head over and have a read.

I think one needs to read past the sensationalism, consider the breeding records kept over many centuries and the numbers, and wonder why this has not been noticed in real life before getting hot under the collar!

I'm intrigued, how is it not ok to post it on forums but ok to post about it on forums and direct people to your blog?

I am not sensationalising anything and once I get a copy of the research paper I will gladly forward you a copy if you like?

I have permission to link to my blog at the moment but not to a forum. I have asked the author but have not heard back. Advising of information on my blog is not the same thing as posting a link without permission. And considering the information, I would rather have permission to share it.

Interesting but I agree with JA the title on the blog is rather sensationalist and not what I would expect of a sound review of a scientific paper.

It is not as if thoroughbreds are falling over and going bonkers left right and centre. Ironically I did have a wobbler TB "derivative" (State Diplomacy) but investigations did not reveal such a congenital defect.
