Apologies if this has already been covered but it was news to me when I was told.
As most people know the law for driving a 7.5T horsebox changed in 1997, anybody who passed their test since then can only drive a vehicle up to 3.5T. If you passed your test prior to the law changing you were granted grandfather rights to drive up to 7.5T and also to accompany a learner driver. On April 10 this year that law changes and drivers with grandfather rights can no longer accompany a learner, only a person who has held the relevant category LGV license for at least three and a half years will be able to sit with a learner.
