I really want him to stretch down and out but he just snatches if I let him have more rein.

only saw 1st vid before comp went v v slow.
i think doing a lot more sharp transitions and smaller(15-5m) circle work on different reins would benefit him...
working him really round and then allowing the stretch will make him want to reach down more
also taking the bend to both the inside and outside will help. you should be able to put his neck and head where you want.
and lateral work depending on his training level- on straight and circles of various sizes.

im really trying to get mine to stretch... and she does the snatching thing as well so I'll be watching this thread with interest

If he was mine, I wouldn't want him to stretch down that much more than he is. I was always taught to never loose sight of the horse poll when they come round, and he is holding the outline really well!
When you first warm up, what do you do? As soon as I get on, and in the school, I firstly flex the horses head left, then right ON BOTH REINS, as this makes a lot of difference. This always helps to get the horse to lower their head more, and make them softer in the mouth.

The video looks great though, and you should be pleased with what you have so far!! Well done!!
