In celebration of the good yard owners, are mine the best?

I just had to to post to tell you about my YOs, I arrived at the yard to find Elizabeth, my daughter, walking my horse up and down. He had a bout of colic, he is prone to gaseous colic and it makes him very grumpy. He had lunged at one of my YOs and at his mum, ears back and teeth bared. My YO checked him very regularly and kept him up on his feet.

I had been there about 5 minutes when I heard a car come quickly up the drive and my YO came running into the barn, she had left work early and came in in her work clothes. She risked a good kick by checking him for overheating, and generally was there for us.

2 hours later, with tea and sympathy provided, and Cappy eating his hay/straw mix, she ushered us off home and promised to ensure he was okay every hour.

This is not the first time they have gone far over and above what is required of part livery.

So do I have the best YOs? Let's celebrate the good ones, we are quick to condemn the poor one(which we have also experienced)

yes mine is the best, she took jazz on schooling livery, allowed us to stay on part then when we had a bit of financial trouble she let us put on her on diy (this yard is exclusively part or full livery) everytime i have a problem she is there, she feeds her, hays her and turns her out free of charge. the story doesn't end there. the other day i was telling her that i am considering having my old boy pts and all i was going to ask was could she have jazz for a few days after so i could sort myself out. she has offered to hold him for the vet and arrange to have him taken away so i don't have to worry. i am sure there is loads of other stuff she has done too. but theses as a few of the best.

MINE are the best............they are always there for us. When we were homeless with 13 horses, hens and geese they opened all the hay fields for the horses and found building space for the birds. We were supposed to be staying just for a few weeks but they told us we could stay as long as we needed and permanently if we wanted (we are there permanently - I will never leave again!) It is our 3rd time back there, we only left last time because we got a smallholding. When Breeze had an accident as a foal they stayed late, almost midnight, to help with the vet and then took us home (didn't have a car at that time). They are friends but are just as good with the other liveries when needed to be. They haven't moaned once about the state of their once beautiful hay fields which are now mud fields. When the fox got in with the hens I got a phone call from a very upset YO who had chased the fox off, by the time I arrived the bodies were all picked up and placed lovingly so that I didn't have to see the worst of the aftermath, the others all kept safe and back in the house. I love them both and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

We had a lovely one

Took in seven horses at very short notice, moving her own horse out to make room. Her Mum's grooms helped make our daughters safe (long story!). A business lady, but a lovely lady. We only moved away because it was an eighteen mile trip up the motorway and the road works was making each way an hour's journey
