She doesnt look fat on her neck but looks to have a big belly. If it is a foal she will look bigger one side than the other when viewed from directly behind while standing square and with her weight evently distributed over both legs

this was august, had been out on grass for about 3 months at this point.... she suddenly got a lot bigger just after this pic with no flat table back and stomach muscles are still visable.
very glad you think she just looks fat though!!!!!

I was going to say the exact same as spring. Get vet to check just in case cause you can never know from a photograph I know a mare who everyone asks when she's going to foal, but she's not pregnant. Never had been in her life. And she's not fat anywhere else but belly! I also know someone who's mare was totally normal, worked normally and one day bam she had a quite large Colt foal at foot and had bagged up overnight!

I'm pretty sure she is just fat but will def still have her checked incase.
Yes feet all sorted, she came to me like that... currently barefoot until actually doing some work. Not been sat on for about 7 months!!

She could also be fat AND in foal..............?

think I agree with that she could as most late spring foaling broodies wouldnt be showing much yet anyway especially first timers
How long have you had her and do you know her history as if she hasnt been near a colt or stallion in the last 8 months or so she wont be in foal

i bought her 3 years ago, sold her end of jan and bought her back in august.... shes been out of work in a field for about 6 months in total.
no idea if she has ever had a foal before, bought her from a dealer so no history from before that unfortunatly.
im only curious as she came to me unfit and out of work but then out of nowhere suddenly got quite large but only around her stomach... vet said she doesnt look just fat but of course cant say exactly just by looking. have to wait another couple weeks to get bloods done.
