In hand bridles for yearlings

Can anyone advise the best place to buy, I'm not too sure on size either - I'm thinking pony? Yearling one is around 14.3hh and yearling two is around 13.2, both have slender heads. Have looked on ebay, not much on there and don't want to spend a fortune. Any ideas?

I have the top one. Are you planning on bitting your yearlings though? As if not you can just get slips for them?

ETA - mine is cob size, my boy is 2yrs old and around 16hh

I understand you have to bit yearlings for showing, I'll be corrected if I am wrong though.

I have everything I need now except the bridles.

Yes i think you are right actually, i didnt show mine last year as a yearling - this will be his first season showing.

That bridle will be fine, then you can just sell it at the end of the season on ebay - thats what il do with mine as hes already in a full size normal bridle!!

We got a reasonably priced one that is rolled, I think it is a Weatherbeata. It is very adjustable so should give you a bit of room to play with when you guess the size!

Shires do quite a nice in hand bridle that isnt overly expensive. I would go for pony size also. You do not have to bit up yearlings however most people do and in my honest opinion it does look better, plus if you have a problem it is easier when they are bitted to "hang on"!!!!
