Hello everyone.

I have just bought my first 2yo and I want to try a bit of showing for the first time with her.

I'm doing a clinic next month with a bit of a showing expert and I need an in hand bridle for her. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good quality bridle that will last and that will suit her face (she's in a full already btw).

As I said, she turns two this time. I have to turn her out as I would for a show, is it appropriate to pull the tails and plait up the manes of a filly (two in May).

I'm sure you think these are silly questions, but as I said I'm new to this but I'm keen to give it my best shot.

Thanks

Yes pull tail and plait her mane a good broad noseband and a brass fitted bridle would be my ideal. I would guess you are showing her as a hunter youngster so plain and as wide as suites her face
I prefer a nice rubber snaffle with brass rings too think it looks smarter than a regular bit but if she is likely to chew maybe a simple snaffle with smaller rings would look better than the ridden bridle
Yours needs a broader nose band but this is the idea

You will probably have to have one made to measure but they work out about the same anyway. Try Fylde saddlery he is very helpful and not too dear
