There seem to be a few posts recently about in hand showing so just wondering if anyone can recommend a good book or reference on it, preparation, presentation etc? Especially towards showing yearlings and natives if possible?

Thanks

Yes, I've got one at home called "Showing to Win" but can't remember who its by. It tells you how to turn your horse and yourself out for showing, I think both in hand and ridden.

I know nothing about it...apart from the fact that it's fun!! Natives are great because you don't have to plait them, just clean them up and get them all shiny

if there's an in hand show near you, go along for a nosy and see what everyone else is doing/wearing.

I did my first in-hand show with my pony at the weekend, I don't have the perfect outfit, or all the perfect kit, and I don't know what I'm doing but we still got placed in all the classes we entered, and more importantly we had fun

Hoorah, I saw your piccy's in PG, he looked lovely! I have a rather handsome New Forest yearling (I'm biased

) who I'd love to get out to some small local shows this summer, for his experience mainly but I'd like to do a little bit of in hand showing if he's calm enough! Just shopping about to see if I can find a good reference book on it too aswell as watching others

The book is by Lynne Russel and Caroline Henderson.
