In hand showing

Hi everyone.

I’m looking for some advice.

Iv got a pony. 11 year old & started doing some in hand showing. We have done a few shows & now he’s got into the habit of biting me & bucking.

Iv been adviced to put vic on his lead & my glove which I do but he likes the taste.

How do I get him out these habits?

Hes taking the piss. Get your "back up" voice in full action, and use it.

You can buy something called Cribox which is nasty tasting. Put it on an old pair of reins and practice using them so he learns that reins taste horrid.

As for the bucking - less hard foot, tell him off for misbehaving - and don't forget to praise him and be nice for good behaviour.
