In hand veteran classes

Anyone know much about the above - how are they judged - do conformation and way of going come into it much or is it mainly on condition for age? Also how would you judge an 18 year old against a 25 year old for example?
We are entering our pony in one of these classes - has to be in hand as pony only does jumping - flatwork consists of constantlyfighting to go 100mph!

Have just started doing veteran classes with our 20 year old at local RC level. I think the most important thing seems to be condition for age, though conformation and way of going come in to it. Our pony has won both her in hand classes but had lower placings in the ridden because she tanked off with her rider

Your pony sounds very like her, she too was a jumping pony. We show her plaited, and in a snaffle (which is why she is out of control, normal ridden in a dutch gag but apparently not the done thing for showing). As long as you are not entering at county level I would just have a go at a show and see how you go on.
