George. Our first GSD and a dog that won the hearts of everyone.

This dog was one in a million, Very, very special. He moved in one wet night and never left!

He adored children as they would play for hours! No child was safe when George was around! He homed in on them. They had to play.

Out of all the dogs I have had, George stands out as one in a million.

Charlie, the biggest, softest lump of a lurcher. The village kids used to run down the road in packs to climb all over him when we were out walking and he loved every minute of it. He was huge, beautiful, slightly mad and totally irreplaceable

Can I ask are we ok to add cats too? (I know its a dog forum, but iv only just got my first dog, and my cat was with me from birth?)
here she is with me as a youngster:
MenBJ.jpg

she was the closest thing I had to a big sister, being born a year and one month before me! she would always look after me, and probably put up with a lot of unwanted "stoking/proding!"
Sure she has plenty of tuna now though

Dexy, who taught me about patience, respect and resilience and taught many a dog-fearing 'Alsation'-hater what the true German Shepherd Dog is - and converted whoever met her!

She broke her front leg at six months old, after being hit by a car, and lived to 14 years with a metal rod holding it together.

She put up with my teenage tantrums and yomped around the village with me and my pals like a sister - until that day in the garden when we saw she couldn't get up on her feet without a struggle.

Her old friend Drew, who had put her back together again as a puppy (and kindly removed that pair of tights she swallowed during a phantom pregnancy!) came to give her peace, at home, where she belonged.

How wonderful you were, despite everything you had to go through.

This was the saddest day of my whole life

. My old girl, Poppy, was put to sleep that afternoon, at home with all her friends around her, right underneath our majestic maple tree. Losing her simply devastated me.

My darling; I love you as much today as I loved you when I first set eyes on you 16 years ago. You'll always, always be in my heart, my angel. xxx

Have lost so many special dogs over the years, but here is Chaka, my totally irreplaceable girl who was pts with cancer in August 2006. She arrived shortly before my husband left (there wasn't a connection

) and became more than a dog, she was a shoulder to cry on and I knew my children and I would always be safe when she was around. Still miss her, am in tears now typing this. Still have her daughter Buffy, who I love to bits but she is not her mum

With Buffy (Chaka lost her eye to a tumour at 10 years old)

Nell, who died this summer, just over one year old. Unfortunate accident where our youngster escaped her field, and kicked Nell on the back, giving her internal injuries which were fatal.

And one of her last winter with my lurcher, these two were best mates and he missed her sorely. He's still a bit lost without her, she would chase him all the time, but the spaniels don't want to know.
