my horse had a stabing injury to her pastern which turned septic so she had it operated on and it turned out she had cut a small part of he SDFT but it wasnt big and the vets just saidit would be box rest and time and she would be fine. But a week later she went really lame so she went back down the vets and was rescaned and they found she has half of her DDFT missing, i asked could it have happened with the original injury and they said it wasnt present as they scanned the whole leg before she left to check for any sign of infection and nothing was abnormal.
they think it might have been enzymes eatting away at the tendon however they told me they are only geussing and are not sure what it is. anyway she has anouther scan tomorow and if there is any more damage she will proberly have to be PTS and just to make matters even worse our dog hasent been seen since lunch time yesterday so feeling very down
well done if you got this far sorry rather long but feels better to get it off my chest
