I am currently researching horse trailer storage for my A-level Design Technology coursework.
When traveling, with your horse and trailer to an event or show what items, if any, would you like storage for on the trailer?

Hello i have a tack locker in my trailer and in that i keep a wheel un doing thing, a hazard triangle, my wheel lock, some spare brushes, basic horsey first aid kit and a hoof pick and stud spanner and stud kit, keep them in there all the time so i never forget as i am useless. Would like to be able to carry a full container of water ( carry it in the boot of my car )

Saddles & bridles, this however is already catered for with the Bateson Trailers, they either have a tack cupboard at the front or double saddle rack. Ifor's have a tack locker that they can wheel out. I think a company also makes a locker that you fit to the nose of a trailer & this holds saddles etc.

I have a homemade water butt fixed to the outside of my trailer as it was causing too much clutter inside. You can buy them with fixing brackets but to my mind they're too expensive.

I've also got a little tin box fixed on the front that has a wheel wrench, some tools and a jack should I need to change a tyre.

Would love a lockable tack locker such as the Bateson Ascot or the Equitrek.

Would also like storage for my shovel, broom, muck bucket and ramps (for changing a tyre while the horse is still loaded) which currently live in the front of the trailer and I'm constantly tripping over!

Even some narrow cupboards at head height with sliding doors would be useful for grooming and First Aid kit.

When I swapped from a small lorry to a trailer I hated the fact that you can't keep anything in a trailer, stuff you always need wherever you go: grooming kit, first aid kit, spare rugs, headcollar, spare tack etc. Yes, I can leave bits like that in my trailer but it's all open for being nicked out of!

Can we see your designs when you've done them? And are you also doing metalwork so you can make a prototype!!!

I am currently at the design stage of development but will start making a prototype in the next few months.

I will upload designs for comment when i have some drawn up.
