Just seen the weather forecast for tomorrow. Pouring rain and gale force winds!! Nice!

So should I leave them in for the day? The only option is that they are out from 5.30am til 6.30pm or in?

I am being a softie or is evryone else doing the same?

Mine will be out, all day too, they have shelter and hay, and are much happier out than in

Pickle will be out, the roof on his stable leaks anyway so he will get wet whatever! Also he is happier out and my sisters tb who is out 24/7 enjoys the company for the day

if its as bad as forecast mine will be in, he hates the bad weather, especially wind, and will only gallop around and probably hurt himself, plus make a mess of the field!!! if he would be sensible in bad weather then he could stay out, as he has decent rugs, but he wont be sensible! so he makes the decision for me!

Doesn't look very good, does it? I might TO in the morning and nip back a t lunch to fetch mine in. You can't rely on the forecasts in this country tho, that's the only prob. Last time I kept in cos of the weather it was sunny all day!

Ours are out every day no matter what! We've got a grassy, non-muddy field though and they WANT to be out. If the field was a muddy bog and the horses were the type to stand at the gate all day, i'd probably keep them in. I also wouldnt trust what they say on the weather forecast though....i'm still waiting for that -17 degree 'big freeze' we were promised!!!

I am thinking that I may keep my two in tomorrow - Got to the field on Friday night (was chucking down and windy all day here) and Poor dinky had got herself in a state about it all and was running up and down the fence line screaming. Spooks wont like it much but I should be able to chuck them out for an hour in the evening while i am mucking out.

my mare is in as she has a touch of mud fever in front, even if she didnt she'd be in as she is MF prone and is a diva she'd get hump if put out in that weather for too long wouldnt mind if only for an hour or so but prefer to be in with a few others and hay

God i wish i had a barn! Mine live out 24/7, always have done, but they are all native, 2 have rugs 1 won't wear one an i believe he doesn't need it. They all do really well and i know 4 a fact 2 of them wouldn't be stabled full stop! but i do feel bad sometimes, it's just me though, they are perfectly fine really! They have a field shelter, hay, feeds twice a day and field is surrounded by tree's so very sheltered. but i have always wanted a big barn!!!!

Mine will be out as ever with plenty of grass to eat and if he gets fed up he can just walk into his field stable where their are two haynets hanging up...spoilt boy!!!

Mine are in today and prob tomorrow as well

We have a severe weather warning tomorrow. I suspect they'll stay in - but I'll see what it's like first thing.

Same here. At the moment the forecast for us is 30mph winds and heavy rain - in which case they will definitely be staying in. But will play it by ear in the morning.

Our's will be in, our grazing is really bad at the moment and with both D and Liz losing shoes yesterday after charging around, they will only be going out if the weatheris ok from now on

my field at present has a mini stream, complete with a mini lake and the gate is flooded up to waist so no chance for any turn out at present!
