Non horsey OH has been so good today.

He got up early with me to help load loan horse for her to go back home. Bluddy mare was a sod to catch so he went to the shop for polo's then home for a bucket of feed. He helped load her before going to work (late

).

This afternoon he finished work early and went to the feed merchants to pick up Ellie's stuff, almost having a heart attack when he got the bill

This evening he told me not to rush back from the yard as he would take Poppy dog to the vets for her stitches out for me.

Only thing he has done wrong today was let the vet charge him £4 for a 50ml bottle of hibiscrub to put on Poppy's wound, but I will let him off because he's been great

Lets hear it for helpful OH's

Not today, but earlier this week!

Me - there's a website here with horses for sale, and they've got a buckskin tobiano colt foal (I should say I wasn't horse hunting, just browsing - fatal!)

OH - You go love, if you want to buy a foal that's fine.

Foal arrives tomorrow!!! OH is much more a shooting person than horses, but will do anything to help with them, I am very lucky!! The dealer suggested I took OH for an early night then he'd throw in a black cob colt for cheap too, I son't want that one but OH would be fine with it!

Mine takes hay and water up the field (hay twice a day) and empties the wheel barrow full of poo for me. Everyday. But then I suppose he really counts as a horsey OH now anyway.

I have persuaded him that we can tap into our water deposit, which is at the top of the paddock, and fit a drinker. Thus removing the need to cart five 6.5 litre bottles of water by hand up the field everyday

Erm......Nowt. He is totally unhelpful! He will only come to the yard in summer, cause there is often a BBQ on the go and beer on offer, in winter, the most he will do is come, sit in the car, and shout at me to bloody well hurry up!

Wow MrsElle, i think you found the best man in existence there! Bless him!

I was going to say how mine once bought a rug and managed to get the right size and how he came and took pictures of me, which i know is rubbish especially when he whinges all the time. But yours has put him to shame!

He was moaning at me to hurry up from the yard the other day though and i was stressed from having 5 stabled horses to do so i was really snappy with him about 'i'll get there when i get there, sod off'.
I turned up at half 8 after a horrible drive through traffic for over an hour... To find a 4 course meal, a bath run with candles, roses and champers and he even bought me a H&H mag to read in the bath whilst he finished cooking

And a big massive bunch of roses.

He makes up for his uselessness at horses

my OH helps me with the horses and other stuff every day, he does'nt ride but two of the horses are his. It has taken me years to trust his judgement when checking horses on his own but i let him get on with it now, he puts the hay out fills up the water in the field, puts up the lecy fencing, and will muck out without being asked . ..........Hang on a minute what on earth do i do??

somethingorother, I think you OH gets the top prize for going above and beyond the call of duty!

My OH can't cook at all (well will run to beans on toast if he has to!) and would never buy me flowers and champagne.

Most OH's are fab in their own way, hurrah for brilliant OH's!

NB. I will probably be cursing him in a few days time when he annoys me, but today he can do no wrong!

Lol yes he's good when he tries. That'l have to keep me going til valentines day. I'm determined he will become a useful horsey man to put up fences etc though. Lots of years of training, we're only 21
wink.gif

We could swap the odd day when i need horsey stuff doing and you need a rest from beans on toast

Non horsey OH gets up at 5 am on a Sunday to come to competitions with me as my groom and general dogsbody. Fetches and carries for me, helps me warm up and calls tests if needed. Mucks trailer out when we get home
All for the price of a cup of tea and a bacon butty

My husband paid all my bills while I was unemployed which included a car repair, 100 bales of hay and fuel and he is currently helping me in the mornings ( 6am start) with both my horses while my daughter is away on holiday. He is generous and supportive and he cooks. He is my best friend and always there when I really need him. He is also forgetfull, incredibly annoying at times and thinks he is always right ( Just in case you thought he was too good to be true) lol

The ex and Mazzie never were in the same place, but he did buy her saddle for me! I was in shock when I opened a card from him with a cheque for the full amount in it! It was a brand new Jeffries saddle!

So many wonderful OH's!

I am hoping to intoduce my OH to a couple of the OH's down at the yard who muck out and do poo picking. OH will play with the horses while I do all the hard work, so hoping it will soon be the other way round
laugh.gif

Mine's not at all horsey, would rather we didn't have them, but he looks after Dizzy when I can't, takes Daughter to the yard when I can't or I need a break/have to do something else, never whinges when I buy something for the horses, picks up feed 'n' stuff, is learning to lunge Dizzy for me; when I didn't want to get the train into work (a city fifty miles away), he drove me in and then spent the day kicking his heels until I was ready to go home. He'll run a bath for me and cook dinner when I've been out.

Hm. Maybe I should have him cloned

.

My OH phoned lots of adverts up on my behalf when we were looking for a horse to share, drove me to a few, stayed there taking lots of piccies, helped me catch the naughty ones (
grin.gif
), vaulted over the fence when I got chucked off, encouraged me to get back to riding in the first place and he bought me my new black leather jod boots!
grin.gif

He's never complained and has always been there to support me and stood in the rain whilst I rode!

My new fella (of 6 months!) is turning into a horsey pro! He comes to support me and Beep out hunting, he has said he wants to learn everything so he can help me out, so he has now learnt how to rug him up, he knows how to muck out, he can make up a feed for Beep now and also turns him out and catches him without a problem. He's also now had two riding lessons on the yard schoolmaster which he thoroughly enjoys and he's starting to help the yard manager twice a week in the evenings. After all that plus working full time as a Tennis instructor he still cooks for me twice and week and finds time for romantic evenings out! He's just the best and completely irreplacable!
laugh.gif

Mine took over my spooky big mare who wouldnt load and didnt like going out on her own. he's learnt to ride on her and now he does the horses on a night when he gets home from work, brings them in grooms and picks out feet etc. Today he drove the trailer for the big bale of haylage and pushed it into the shed.

Mine is not keen on them but knows they keep me and my daughter happy. I have a big horsebox bill comming up and he has already put the money into my account to pay for it - bless him.
laugh.gif
He will always help if I ask or I am stuck and is very good with the tissues when things go wrong and I cry all over him
laugh.gif

lets hear it for our OH's mine is a total star, will do my horses for me if the children or I are poorly, went straight out last night and bought a lock for the trailer and more locks and chains for the field gate as somebody had tried to nick it the night before. On a Sunday he goes to dog agility training so does their feeds for me and in the summer he trains twice a week so does them then as well. He also tows the horsebox for me to any shows I want to go to and is my groom/general dogsbody at shows bless him.

My oh is fab, always there ready to help me when i needed it.
as her was a dab hand at diy he was always in demand at the yard. He picked stuff up really quickly and would just go off and brush her, pick her feet out do her rugs, he even started to untack. Think he wants one himself, has mentioned a shire or a scurry ponies anything that pulls a cart
smirk.gif

When my horse was ill he came up every night after work to see me and her, i dont think i would of coped with out him.
When she was pts he was with me and dealt with her being taken away and sorted out all the details for me. He was really upset but he didnt let on for my sake.
He's been fab since and supported me though the ups and downs of it all. Now im looking for another he knows what a big thing it is and has again been great.
Very lucky to have him

QR OH is horsey, he mucks out all the neddies every morning, leaving me in bed till a reasonable hr, well 7am have to get up then to get kids off to school.

I'm sick at the moment and my OH has been up since 7am mucking out all 5 horses, all turn out and bringing in etc etc Has even cooked me lunch and dinner
smile.gif

My ex-OH divorced me and moved to New Zealand, the best thing he could have ever done - I can now indulge my obsession to my hearts content

Today, my OH 'phoned me from Central Milton Keynes and walked round all the relevant shops looking for my special brand of dental floss (which no one stocked)

My husband has gone away for 6 months and I miss him terribly. Before he went he told me that he thought I should give up my little P/T "horse money" job so that I could spend my time riding and caring for my horse while the kids are at school. He said he'd rather phone home and have a happy wife than a stressed out one who's been trying to fit everything in everyday!
He bought my horse for me and supports me 100% even though he doesn't really like horses much! He went and collected her for me too.
He knows how important she is to me and listens to me go on and on about "horsey" stuff most days!
I've had quite a few vets bills this year too and he's paid for them without moaning once!

I can't thank him enough for all he does.
Although when he gets home he'll be cracking the whip and getting me back out earning my keep i'm sure!!

Mine's horsey, but without his own at mo, as just had major knee op. He will still do anything he can to help with mine and since he's off work til knee repairs, has taken over all the housework..blissssssss

Mine wasn't horsey when I got him, but is a total convert now !! He has built me a yard & barn from scratch on a very limited budget. Agreed without hesitation to stretch our rescources to their very limit (well way over truth be told) when some land at the right (ish) price came up. Stayed up with me night after night when the mares been due to foal.
He also accepts that by the time I've sorted the horses I've no time for housework or cooking so he cooks too !!
