in season too much?

my mare seems to be forever in season. she is 17/18. she is in season about once every 4 - 6 weeks roughly. i've got 3 mares and she is beside herself about my new one.

could there be anything wrong with her? she seems to be in season a lot more than other mares i know.

she has pretty much always been the same although does seem worse in the last year but that could just be my imagination.

Ive had quite a few mares over the years and I have had two that seemed to always be in season. They would come into season in the winter if a new mare was put in field or if the had boys next door either in field or stable. One really was up for it and would present herself to the geldings over the fence. Dont know that much about seasons so I mentioned it to the vet and he said not to worry about it as long as they seemed happy and comfortable.
