....the following:

A 2 year old welsh sec C, to make 13.2 and quite smart/well bred?

A show quality dun connemara yearling?

Both with no issues and good temperaments.
Thank you! I find it impossible to gauge at the moment..!
(In the south of England if that has any impact)

...was expecting to have to pledge a kidney in the “how much would you pay” debate at the moment!

I’d largely agree with others in the £1.5-£2k band for the welsh, but probably a bit more for the Connie (£3k)- assuming reasonable conformation? That’s just my guess though based on the price newly broken 3 year olds seem to be commanding at the moment ?

Friend told me recently that she was seeing two yo connies geldings nice not outstanding 8k .
I disagree with TFF ,the gelding Connie will more sought after than a mare if you are not looking at top quality show stock

This is fine to disagree ? one person's gold is another's take it or leave it. Anyone who has room to store on yearling geldings, sell at back end of 3 or even lightly ridden away at 4 wont lose, even with taking out keep and maintenance money etc.

The Connie will always be worth more than the Welsh. Being a gelding won't make the slightest bit of difference to the Connie's price but would to the Welsh.

Connie's are generally more versatile and even tempered than Welsh hence the larger price tag.

The nicely put together connie in a fashionable colour and very sought after breed would be as a lightly backed 4 y/o be worth 5 figures in the current market. (I'm not going to second guess how long the current market lasts for).
I would have thought comfortably £3k for that one
