After reading in H&H today about the lady's horse who ended up with Jamie Gray,
I felt I had a need to write this. This is a longshot, as I don't know if the girl still is involved with horses, or indeed comes on these boards, but I felt I had to try.
Back in 2002, I advertised for a companion for my cob, Murphy. I got a reply from a girl who had a retired racehorse called "Bob". He was then 20 yrs old. She was moving to London, and needed to find a home for Bob fairly quickly. Anyway to cut a long story short, Bob came to stay with me and Murphy, and I would just like her to know, if she should happen on this, Bob is still alive and well and living the life of riley. He's 26 now, completely retired. He is regularly wormed, has his teeth checked twice a year, has his feet regularly trimmed by a lovely farrier, and is loved beyond belief. He can still act like a 2 yr old, but is the most loving horse. I love him dearly, and he will be with me until the end of his days. He gets regular turnout, wrapped up well from the cold, and on bad days he stays in , warm and snug. He looks really well, and I hope he'll be with me for a while yet, God willing.
Like I say, its just a longshot. I don't have any contact for her, and all I can remember that her name was Beth. So, Beth, if you read this, rest assured Bob will NEVER end up like those poor unfortunates of Spindles Farm. Sorry this is so long, but I just want to try.
