Well, I took Ulla to a vet who said they could do something about her bed-wetting. They gave her an oestrogen jab and it (the incontinence) stopped immediately. Yay! She has to keep having jabs every 5 months or so. HOWEVER, she now has blood in her foofie and it's a bit swollen... VERY much as if she were coming into season.
I expect this is normal, but boy dogs are getting on her nerves a bit. Any advice/suggestions/reassurance?
Thanks

Tbh never heard of either the jab or the season signs, but it makes sense I suppose. Might be worth a quick word with vet to check it is normal. When I had a bitch with urinary incontinence she had propalin drops.

That's great news! Glad it worked for her!

Oestrogen works by tightening the sphincter muscle, but long term use is not indicated. It might be worth asking for a prescription for propalin which does the same job (but in a different way, it does not, as far as I know, contain oestrogen). The false season signs may well be a side effect of the oestrogen.

Yes, that's how the vet said it worked. I'm a bit worried about the long-term effects. I wonder what Propalin is in Spanish?
