hello,
i have a 14.2hh 22year old gelding who, although is very fit, i am looking to increase energy through a feed or a supplement to cater for the level of work we are doing. he is currently fed on pony cubes and plain chaff and i am looking for a supplement or feed which can provide him with a bit more energy. his teeth are fine and the vets have cleared that the work we are doing is appropriate and suitable for him, you wouldn’t known his age watching him. Any advice or personal experience is welcome as have researched but not found anything particularly useful. Thank you:)

My 22 yr old is currently doing 32/40 km rides with ease living out 24/7 at the moment on grass . He does get a small feed of grass nuts, grass chaff , linseed and salt.

I would try some micronised linseed it provides slow release energy and has other benefits as it's good for hooves, skin, coat, and joints I have fed it to all my horses for years and they have all looked good on it, you can then adjust it according to how much work they do and how they look.
