Well the main point of this post is to tell you all how proud I am of DP today, but we'll get to that bit soon, first a general update to put today in context 
In my last update I told you all how well DP had done at dressage and how much of a superstar she was...well they say pride commeth before I fall (not quite literally yet ). Having decided to loose our HT-virginity we headed out to Lexham Hall in deep dark Norfolk. We walked the course and apart from fence 3, a coffin, there wasn't too much I was worried about. Our warm up was interesting, with DP barely managing to keep all four feet on the floor, but we eventually made it to the start and were off...or so I thought. A stop. 10m out. B****r. The rest of the round continued in a similar vein and we had a stop at 10/16 fences *hangs head in shame* She was so busy looking at everything else she didn't have a clue what she was supposed to be doing Luckily we'd entered both the clear round and the competitive class so we got to go round a second time. The second round was so much better, we still didn't make it over the ditch in the middle of the coffin but she flew everything else so we managed to end the day on a good note
Despite the dodgy XC round I got home and decided it was time to brave our first ODE and entered her for Ickworth 2' with the aim being to not get eliminated!
Had a quick XC schooling session and SJing outing in preparation...

(one pole down in the 75cm)
...and then went on holiday for four days! I got back last night and our schooling session was a bit of a disaster so I wasn't overly hopeful about our 'not getting eliminated' aim. Regardless ,off we trundled into the delightful rain for our first ODE Our warm up largely consisted of high school maneuvers due to a loose horse in the arena, but luckily she just about settled in time for our test. It felt OK, but she broke in one of the canters and due to slippery ground our circles were rather egg shaped so I though high 30s would be fair. I then did a very quick tack change and headed over to the SJing where she put in a very pleasing clear, despite questionable breaks Another quick turn around of onto XC where, excusing a strop in the middle of the woods, she was fab
Went to look at the dressage scores to find that we had somehow got 30.4 and were currently lying in 3rd! I couldn't stay to see our final placing by Jesstickle messaged me on the way home to say that the smart-arse pony had only gone and won our first ever ODE Super happy owner
