Following on from my previous posts, although I know serveral "horsey" people they aren't really prepared to travel far to see any horses, Does anybody know if this service is available, I would be willing to pay for somebody's honest advice as it would be cheaper than buying the wrong horse and I am really a novice and a bit of a sucker to be honest.
I know this horse needs a little bit of work which I don't mind but I need to know if it is do able and with work and improvement on both side, (me & Him) we could make a nice team.

Moonwalker, I live in Derbyshire and the horse is in Melton Mowbray about a 50 mins drive in good traffic.

Try looking up the BHS Register of Instructors on www.bhs.org.uk to see who's in your area....then phone round to see if any of them will come with you.
Be prepared to pay, though, and not just travel expenses; instructors have to earn a living too

Oh, and sort out fees beforehand so you both know where you stand...

Sorry don’t know of anybody but just wanted to say what a sensible person you are. If I had of done this I wouldn’t have spent a year with the wrong horse. Oh well got my perfect horse now!

Thanks JoBo, its just that I start to doubt my own mind, I found a lovely horse that failed his vetting and seen plenty of horses that just haven't been right, he ticks most of my boxes its just that he is a little lazy am putting that down to the extra weight he is carrying and this thing with his head, but as the end of the day he's only going to be my hack and I will be having a lesson on him to improve us both.

Did you wrong horse turn right in the end?

I think it’s always very wise to have a second pair of eyes, especially for someone like me whose heart rules over head! I do hope it all works out for you. I wish I got on here more as I miss large chucks of people’s posts.

No unfortunately the wrong horse (Otto) was sold to a hacking home as e couldn’t cope with competition, and I lost my confidence on him. He is now an overgrown pet which hacks around the block once a week, suits him perfectly. I now have Bodey (the one below in my sig) who is perfect for me, we have a lot of fun even though we are very much at the beginning as he is only 4.
And Yes I got my instructor to see him before I brought him! Didn’t know my instructor when I brought Otto unfortunately.
