I am sorry so to say this, having read the article in its entirety but I just can't help thinking "so what?".

So what of the opinions? They change nothing. Our own opinions here on the forum do not change anything either.

No one actually knows what to change to save horses lives and jockeys lives for that matter apart from let's stop racing. That's just not going to happen. I feel the arguments/pov's have become more about individual egos than about welfare.
