( I am not a competition RIDER!)

I was in 2nd for the dressage, at 9.06, so we had to get up FAR too early. I warmed up for the dressage and he was great. He is so transformed from last year, so much more relaxed. In we went for the dressage and Pip remembered his former self. He settled about half way round and we survived it. It was annoying, as this time I know it wasn't my fault.
After we had cones...Last time we were quite slow and 3 down, and I really wanted to give him a smooth run. We had number 2 down, for no apparent reason except bad steering and then we went clear! We were 2 seconds over, but only 1 person got closer to the time than us of all 36 entries. Unfortunately my dressage which I got 65% in made us 4th coming into the obstacles, I had hoped to be higher. The dressage judging for Paces IMO was pretty suspicious(see the pictures above). 2 other people got mainly 9's for paces with flash, but not working correctly ponies.

The obstcles were horrendous to walk. Very long and confusing, to a person let alone a pony. I was first in, due to my place. In we went...galloped through the start and had to screech to a stop. Some w@nkers were still walking the course. After this we re-started, and Pip was amazing. He was realling on form and got up a good fast Ryhtm. We got 70 seconds, but I had no idea how this compared as I was first. We went into the 2nd with restored confidence, as agin at the last event we had a boo-boo. He was very controlled yet fast, and we got 39 seconds. I knew I had done well when the next people both got 82 seconds for 1 and 45 and 56 for 2. We went in for 3+4 ,and managed to get 70.00 and 38. I was so proud...I already knew that I had got the best in our class for 2, and a second slower than the winner(who hasn't been beaten for 3 years) for 1. Annoyingly I was taking Pip out, so didn't hear the times for the other people in our class, but I was really hoping for a 2nd, and expecting a 3rd. Untill 6.45 PM!!!I watched the rest of the people go round. It was amazing, as each of the good people came in I watched and though, yup that was fast, but then their times were slower than mine! The national Obstacles chamion beat my obstacle 1, and another very competitive peron beat 2, but 3+4 were unbeaten! Pretty impressive for the first in. Pip is amazing, he lollops along, but covers the ground so fast. Then the results were out... I had best obstacles of the whole day, last time we were nearly eliminated!!! If I hadn't got that one cone down I would have won. No one has been so close to the winner since the begining of the 2004 season! If I had been in any other class, either novice, or open I would have won, damn this Junior thing. I can't wait for the next event!
