Indoor school/covered menage

Hi

I am hoping to convert a large haybarn into an indoor school/covered menage.
It has a good roof and the structure is quite solid. There is no solid (ie concrete) floor under the barn!

Has anyone on here converted a haybarn or similar for riding use? What would i need to do to get the best surface?

Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated

I would check with your local planners that you don't need to get a change of use on your barn.

Speak to menage constructors to get their views of the best way to proceed.

My YO is doing this at the moment. She has applied for planning permission, as it is change of use. As far as I know, it will have a hardcore base of some sort, then a membrane and the school surface on top.
