hi, i've got a 20 year old horse who has been on cortaflex for last 3 months. She has become less stiff on the cortaflex but still has inflammation in her joints. Can anybody give me some ideas to which supplement i could try to help the inflammation?

Hi, I've tried evething going for my pony who has been left with inflamation on his fetlocks after an injury, nothing seems to work better than 24/7 turn out!

My horse can get a swollen fetlock post injury (see her story in an arthrospoy post on this page )

I feed her green lipped musscle at 2000 mg a day and its does def help as when i ran out her legs after 48 hours got puffy again.

Its being used in clinical trials for horses at the moment and so far its been very sucessful- my horses surgeon recommended it.

If you get to holland and barrett quickly its only 5.79 for 100 instead of 11.79! The offer is on untill the 3rd april so im going to stock up on it on payday.

I use the following for the same problem but i use www.healthspan.co.uk its free UK delivery and they are very quick, its £13.97 for 240, 350 mg capsules of Green Lip Mussel
http://www.healthspan.co.uk/other_joint_...-p310-c125.aspx I give her 3 capsules per day and she is doingf fab on it
I also give Aloe Vera Tablets http://www.healthspan.co.uk/immunity/ProductList-c145.aspx and they costs £9.95 for 360 tablets, and my mare gets 6 a day at the moment.the Aloe Juice IS better and gets quicker into the system but tablets are cheaper

Try a much stronger joint supplement. Cortaflex is quite weak in comparison to others such as Synequin and Riaflex. Also Pure Distilled MSM has fantastic anti inflammatory properties and may be worth a try. Turn out and walking around will also help to flush fluid out. Good luck!
