Horse been lame since December last year originally thought stifle OCD so had op for that, still lame queue an MRI and inflammation of the navicular bursa has been diagnosed in both fronts so where do I go from here in terms of barefoot? vet coming to medicate the joint next week, horse did have shoes on but off for MRI... just need some advice and perhaps some positive stories (please :))

I'm very positive that without shoes your horse will improve. Don't put them back on, keep him on surfaces he can cope with in the early stages and give him time.

Meanwhile google cure for navicular and get reading.

Not a barefoot reply from me but my mare had this problem 4 yrs ago. She had the joint medicated after finding a tear to her DDFT by MRI. She had wedge shoes and wedges first, then eggbar shoes, has been sound ever since. I am careful where I ride her these days and she is 18 so doesnt have much pressure on her anymore, the prognosis for her wasn't good at the time but Im happy to say we have come through the other side..
