I wondered if anyone uses or has used these? (Hope link works!) Anyway, its a vest that has a cartridge in it that inflates the whole vest if you part company from the horse. Sounds good but does it work, any problems.......anyone?web page

Well at least if you come out of the side door at a water complex, you'll float!

yes, i was involved with the early testing of these. comfy just feels like a loose vest normally, go very solid after inflating (nearly take your breath away with the pressure.)
i didn't like the fact that it makes a loud noise (like a gunshot more or less) as it inflates, i was afraid of the horse being frightened by it and bolting off, tbh.

I like the way it would inflate & support your neck, but would it prevent tuck and roll even more than a bp?
also what it you had a monkey on a stick moment, what if it inflated and bounced you off?!!
no chance of quickly jumping up and hoping no one noticed, when you have just turned into a mitchellin man!!

Dont like the idea of them atall. . .

Just watched the video of it inflating. . .made me laugh! looks like it might take your breath away :S

If you're on the way out though, it probably doesn't matter all that much if the horse bolts

Can you get one that pads your bum? I always seem to land on mine!

I believe it's quite hard to get replacement cartridges.... something of a bummer if you can only use the thing once!
