Has anyone heard of Double Trouble gelding, ex r/horse? I purchased this 14 yr old gelding from Michelle Edgar, Radcliffe, Manchester a few weeks ago. She thought (and it says on the passport) that he was Double Trouble, but had his age as 14. But actually Double Trouble would be 17 now! Sent his markings thro to Wetherby's and these show that he is NOT Double Trouble! I am not actually bothered about this, and after his vetting he is actually aged 14 or just under! Before Michelle had him, she bought him from her friend, Hilary Cowsill from Whitefield, Manchester, who apparently rescued him. I would just like to trace his background if poss and wondered if anyone could help. Get ya thinking caps on, Ta v much

Might be an idea to get Vet to scan for a microchip..... if its a pure TB and has been registered with weatherbys it should be chipped....

There's a starting point for u!!!

Forget to say -he is microchipped by Equichip, I have the number, but due to data protection they cannot give me details of who had this done. I did wonder about contacting previous vets, but again I dont think they will give any info out? Thank you for your help

No, but it isnt his original passport. He was only passported in 2004 by Hilary Cowsill with the BHS , so in a word, could be from anywhere!

Its worth contacting the previous vets. I had the name and partial address of a previous owner on a vacc document along with the name of the practice that had injected him for flu and tet. I tracked down the vets and gave them a call explaining I was looking for these peoples phone number so I could let them know I now had their old horse. The vet was really helpful so I wouldnt dismiss this out of hand.

[/ QUOTE ] can you not write a letter and they pass it on to the person who had the microchip done as he must still be registered to them with equichip. i can't see why they can not tell you the horses name. i knew afriend who bought a horse that had a freezemark and farmkey told her everything name , dob, date he was microchipped and where, but could not give out previous owners. worth another try
