I'm interested in a couple of horses that Rosita Hamars has advertised on Horse Mart - does anyone have feedback on this place xx

I've just bought a horse which she sold a few years ago (she got her out of racing and bred a foal from her) I emailed her on the off chance she might be able to give me more info on her and couldnt have been more helpful or nice, plus the mare is a little gem!

She has a website-

As far as Iam aware she is a breeder rather than a dealer. I do not know her but pass by her place when iM going to Bishops Castle which is the village nearby. I often see her many horses in the fields. They all look nice and the whole place seems properly run and everything well cared for.

i think she mainly breeds but she has a few of tb x somthings for sale on horsemart so maybe dabbling :)

This I think is right, she started off I believe in Morgans (knew her name a long time ago then!!) breeding and showing, but has branched out into other breeds and coloureds, and possibly dabbling in dealing? Never been to her place mind so no idea what it's like there, but the show morgans always used to look good.

Rosita is a breeder as correctly stated above.

I have transported horses to her and from her over the years mainly morgans or rather sports morgans. I cannot recommend her enough.

She also breeds some lovely terrier dogs. Have spent many a time drinking tea in the huge farmhouse kitchen with them running about!

Rosita is very knowledgeable. Goes hunting and showing all the time and knows her stuff. Will often take the horses out and about.

Her prices will reflect that she is a breeder looking for good homes for her horses.

As others have said, Rosita is a breeder rather than a dealer (although like most breeders she may occasionally come upon a horse that she buys with a view to selling later.) She IS very knowledgeable and a genuinely decent horsewoman - as well as a very nice person.

I don't know her personally, but know of her reputation through the Morgan horse world as she still owns Morgan stallions and breeds pure and cross breds. From what I understand she's bred some nice horses that have sold on to name-dropping-worthy type buyers. I don't think she's fly-by-night and is legitimate.

Rosita is lovely and has some really nice horses for sale. My morgan cross welsh mare is out of one of her morgan stallions. I have only met her once but she came across as a lovely genuine person. She gave me a tour of her entire yard, I met lots of lovely, calm stallions, some very nice brood mares and a field of youngsters that I would liked to sneak into the back of my car!

I bought my Morgan x TB mare from Rosita last July and can't recommend her enough - fantastically helpful. My mare was only 6 and a lovely unspoiled youngster (although a little green) - she'd been regularly hacked out, with some nice basic schooling, and had hunted once, so had got some great basics in place. Only thing I would say is if you are buying one of her homebreds, be aware that moving them to another yard may temporarily blow their brain (happened with mine) - but that's the same with any horse from a breeder or one thats lived in a herd type environment. Rosita was however fantastically supportive throughout that period in terms of suggestions and background info - can't recommend her enough.
