Hi

I owned the above mare many years ago and would love to know if anyone new her a chestnut mare, born 19th may 1991, sire kind of hush, dam afrabella. she bred one foal with me a colt who's sire was shattered peace. I am new to this so not sure if this is the right place. She was sold as Ascot sales in 2000, she can be a stroppy mare but i adored her, but due to having a baby she didn;t like not being ridden and her routine being changed. Any info would be great good or bad.

thanks

I have the colt! well.... obviously he's no longer a colt :p

When I bought him I tracked back his microchip number and emailed around to get some more info. Weatherbys wrote back saying "I can inform you that the microchip number that you provided is registered to an unnamed thoroughbred chestnut colt (probably now gelded), born on 11th May 1999, by SHATTERED PEACE and out of WATERLOO BELLE (GB)."

I would be interested to know if this is his correct birthday as the vets/dentist always put him around 2000-2001 whenever I asked in the first year I had him

I know its know its not about your mare but thought you might like to know about her offspring. =)

I have owned him since July 2006. He's called Cal (or Calico if you want to use his full name). Though I dont know if you named him?!

I would love to know a bit more about his history if you know any, or have any pics of him as a baby?

Thanks, Charlotte

Hi you should have a message from squeelie this is my friend who had cal(filbert as we called him) not sure where his name changed, but we are both so pleased to have found him and we have seen some pictures of you and him and u clearly adore him! He has his mothers mane and tail and withers, his sire was lovely a real gent with a calm temperament which is why he was choosen as maisie (waterloo belle) was on occassion a real bag lol we would love to see him sometime my friend had been looking for him for so long and has just about given up hope when I stumbled on your original thread looking for info did u get our messages xx

I am still in shock that you (Kirsty) stumbled across a thread posted by Charlotte in 2007! I am also in shock to hear from your posts (Charlotte) that he was dumped in a field and by all means in a sorry state!

Charlotte I found your link to Photobucket and was delighted to find all the photo's that you have posted on there of him.. I have to say that even at 6/7 he still looked like he did as a 3yrs old. I loaned the Mare Maisie from Kirsty to breed a little eventer/pointer or BYH as that was my interest at the time, I owned a small select mixed event/hunt yard in Leicestershire which is where Kirsty and I met! We did have some fun I can tell you!!! Anyhow, little Filbert was born (will have to locate his passport to confirm his DOB) but if you have already contacted Weatherby's the information given to you will be absolutely correct, it does sounds about right but I will confirm..

I did a lot of work with him and he proved impeccable on the ground and stable work and was very easy to break, I read that he was nappy when you first had him and yes he stood up a couple of times leaving the yard as spooked himself silly once with a dog walker and an umbrealla but it was resolved quickly although there was always that capability there if he wasn't confident with the rider.. I am glad to hear you have worked through it as he isn't a nasty chap at all, just needed a confident rider.

I sold him as a 4yr old out the field to a fairly novice family who had a good instructor/event rider where he was going to be based and shortly after had a phone call to say that they were not getting on with him and they sold him to the farrier????!!!!!! I was devastated :( All good now though and I am delighted to read that he has been with you and spoilt (by the looks of it) for the last few years! He was a very capable little horse I sent him to John Dillons yard (Google him) in Leicestershire for further education where he proved to be really very talented he would easily have gone on to event at PN / N level which is when I turned him away for 6 months to mature, I decided to sell him and here we are......

Anyhow, I could go on & on if you want to find out anymore then please feel free to drop me a line.

Shelley!
