Wondered if any one else had had this?
Our 3 boys live in fields opposite a house where the owners do a lot of clay/pheasant shooting. Usually they don't bat an eyelid at the sound of the guns, however today we were "behind" the guns and all 3 were upon their toes.

We have people that clay shoot on Saturdays about a quarter mile from our yard. My boy ignores it as he has become used to the sound, however this weekend he was in his stable and like yours was quite spooky and stopped eating and moved to the back of his stable looking quite nervous every time he heard a shot. A couple of times I was sure I was going to have a ton of horse jump into my arms for a reassuring cuddle.
I've put it down to the spring grass coming through as my bombproof neddy has been uncharacteristically nervous and spooky like most others on the yard of late.
I think they are all feeling good and full of energy at the moment and are just going through a bout of spring fever.
By the way, has anything recently changed at your yard? i.e. a changed routine, new horses on the yard, change in feed? Sometimes the smallest changes can cause a massive change in their behavior.
Whatever it is I wouldn't be too worried as I'm sure your horses will settle down again soon.

I've had real bullets cut down plants around me - quite a lot of them - I can still see this in slow motion like on the films.

Now, I'm still here untouched - but it did spook me quite a lot!
