He was put down this morning after failing to recover from surgery on Thursday for a serious bout of colic.

I loved this little horse, such guts and tenacity to win three Stayers/World Hurdles at the Festival. I saw him win his first one, what a buzz from the crowd he got.

He didn't deserve this, poor lad, he was only ten.

From the Racing Post

Sleep well, the Drever.

Oh that is sad, I did enjoy watching him, although after Cheltenham? this year, it looked dubious that he would come back anyway, but what a sad ending to a talented horse

This is very sad news...he was an amazing racehorse, and epitomised what NH racing was all about...guts, determination, and a never say die attitude that endeared him to all that watched him race. RIP Inglis Drever

I am honestly gutted

If any recent jumps horse deserved a long and happy retirement it was him. I am really shocked by this news which I have just seen. I also feel terribly for his previous stable lass Ginny Wright. Gosh this news must be heart wrenching for her, Johnson and everyone else who was ever involved with the horse.
This is very sad news and I really don't know what else to say

Such a honest horse. I not only backed him to victory a couple of times at Cheltenham but was also in awe of his tenacity especially over a staying trip.
RIP little man. x

I can't believe this. Such a brave little horse, one of my all time favourites. The poor boy had no retirement at all.
Condolences to all his connections, especially Ginny Wright, who must be distraught.

Really really sad to read this. Great, gutsy horse. Feel for all concerned especially Ginny as she too is what racing is all about - love and respect for the horse and his talent.
