Hi as some may know from previous threads I have finally found a youngster (7 month old). I would post a picture but can't workout how to upload to photobucket anymore as not used it in awhile

Anyway I would like to take her to a few inhand shows whilst she's young :) But i've never done much showing let alone inhand. So am wanting lots of advice on what I wear, what foalie needs to wear ie headcollar etc? What do you do in a showing class etc?
I have yet to teach foalie to trot in hand, or have a wash and loading and travelling in my trailer etc :)

thanks :)

Ah that may help... she is a irish sport horse cross, dun and white in colour. White legs so assuming dark trousers for me. :)

You have multiple classes you can enter then - Hunter, Coloured and Sports Horse.

For all the horse will need plaited and trimmed up. A foal gets shown in a slip but as of 1st Jan your horse is technically a yearling so can be shown in either a slip or a bitted inhand bridle.

For you: Tweed jacket, shirt, tie, dark trousers, sensible boots, gloves and either a beaglar or velvet covered hat.

For affiliated Sports Horse classes you have be dressed in white from head to toe.

Finally some pics....

Oh she's sweet. :)

A filly slip and leadrein like this would be good for in-hand showing her.

She was actually born cream and white and had darkened to this colour please tell me she won't go any darker? :o
Is she a buckskin and white? :) Do tell :)

Yes, I think she's probably a buckskin tobiano. :) From the shading on her face, she could have sooty. It will be interesting to see if her mane and tail go black once the baby hairs have grown out. I do like her and you got your bay dun/buckskin that you desired. :D

Ah cool interesting to know thanks :) I too am hoping her mane and tail will darken more ;)
Her sire is a piebald and her mum was dun/buckskin (didn't get a good look at her) :)
re the slip would you go for brown or black? I have a black cane somewhere so am leaning towards black but always thought brown was more 'correct' for showing :)
