My dog is 12 yrs old and suffers drom arthritis in her back legs. We hace her on rimadyl (prescribed by vet) glucosomine and she has started going to hydrotherapy.

Thinking of changeing her on the dog cortaflex.

A friend's Mum's dog has had a course (3 Injections) of injections which have given her dog a new lease of life, she said he is running around again.
This injection is apparently used on german shepherds quite alot.
Does anyone know what this injection is called as i'm really interested to ask my vets if it would be any good for my dog, I have asked my friend is she can ask her Mum but still waiting for answer.

Cartrophen. Good luck hope it makes her more comfy

yup cartrophen,

have you tried metacam yet? thats always goes down well unless your pooch has underlying liver problems,

we had one of ours on cartrophen and I personally dont think it helped her..

but every dog is different and we get follow up cases in work where it has worked wonders!

My horse had Cartophen in his pastern joints to help with Athritis. Worked for a few weeks and then wore off. Tried again and it didnt do anything. Hope you have more success with it.

My Lab has Cartrophen injections. You start off with a course of three (one every 5 - 7 days) and then review it at 3 - 6 months for a booster. It makes a huge difference to my labrador.

I have just had the course of three again and it only cost £28 so its definitely worth trying if your vet agrees.
