Found our 18yr old gelding refusing to move in the field.
Luckily we can see the horsres from the house, at first I thought he was dozing, then realised his stretching his neck wasn't normal, asked my OH to check him, next thing I know, he's stripping rugs off and getting lead ropes.
It took four of us to persuade him to hobble to the barn, dragging his right hind leg, the access to the barn from the field is so chewed up now, we took a short cut through our garden.
Put him to bed tonight with his bute, sorted his rug and he has a huge swelling over the hip opposite his injured leg, I am dreading the vet's visit tomorrow, healing vibes please
