Last night went to get my lad fro mthe field, and noticed blood on his leg.
Brought him in and hosed it. Blood was hard so he must of done it in the morning at some point. So hosed it all and cut away some hair so i could see the wound. Its on the inside of his leg on the fetlock.

Cleaned it and put animalintex and vet wrapped it. Horse was sound last night, as havent looked today.

It seems he has tried to jump over the electrified sheep netting and must have got his leg caught.

What else should i/ or should of done??

Looked at it today

Ok will look at him later, last night he was sound and didnt seem in too much pain.
Will post later how it is, with pic maybe. Think is we have a jumping comp on sat, would this stop he being able to go?

Depends how deep the cut is I guess. If it's deep, might have needed the vet/antibiotics/flush etc immediately. And jumping defo a no no. But if only superficial, ned will tell you what he can and can't do. Good luck!

Depends how deep wound is and how big!! But give it a saline wash each evening and rub a bit of aleo vera/or spray some purple spray into it. Guide line for me is if it's something you'd want stitched on yourself if it was you, then vet should take a look!

Be guided by your fella, if he's telling you he can't jump/doesn't feel quite right - don't go there.

sounds like it is where George's cut was, his wasn't huge (4cm long) but quite deep, had to have it flushed and stiches and lower leg imobolised to stop the wound opening as it was right on the joint.
