:( Hi everyone

So I have a horse on full loan at the moment and a bunch of us went to the beach yesterday. She was great, however after we unloaded the horses at home i noticed she has a hard lump on one of her hind legs, on the outside of the cannon bone. She travelled in travel boots, and i would be more worried if it was in the inside and it was a strike injury. She seems sound, there is some heat in it, and it doesn't seem to hurt her when i touch it and she doesn't rest that leg. I have noticed she has quite a decent scar in that spot, could this be a flair up of an old injury? She is going to have a few days off anyway, i have still turned her out and she is sensible and her legs swell up in the stable. Has anyone got any ideas? I'm really worried, but hoping it will go down in a few days on it's own. Obviously if it doesn't i will call the vet out.

Thanks

I would suggest that you contact the horses owner, it may be that this is an old injury that can flare up after hard work and will settle in a day or two.
Cold hosing should help reduce the heat and turning out to keep the legs from swelling.
