Over the summer and autum months my horse had quite a lot of what I thought were bites around his bum, especially the right side although he also had a few on the left side but not many.

Now we're into winter and the bites are still there but then have now gone hard and feel a bit bigger - if you look at them they are very crusty and yellow like dry puss.

This has just happened in the last week or so.

I got Y/O to look at it today and she thinks it looks like a form of ringworm that her horse had a few years ago but said that if it was ringworm it would be more wide sprea.

With the exception of one local show (where he did not come into contact with any horses other than those already at our yard) he has not left the yard since I moved him there 11 months ago.

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?

Getting the vet out next week to do a skin scrapb but any suggestions welcome.

not sure exactly, are they like little circles of just bumps? whatever they are i would probably hibi scrub them or if you suspect ringworm a solution of diluted bleach usually gets rid of it, wash the area with the solution every day for three days then leave for three days then wash again for three days, my vet told me to use bleach as it works just as well and is a fraction of the price of the products vets will give you.
