Insect bites

Any one else still being bitten to death (people not horses) and what are you doing about it..(scratch, scratch), think I've got humna sweet itch!

I'm ok! You haven't got fleas in the house have you? No? Just checking A decent anti-histamine, some Germoline with the anaesthetic & stop itching them......................!

I am being driven insane the last 2 months... It started out as mozzie bites (I live in central London, wth!!!) but now I have tiny little bites that turn into massive welts around my knees and elbows. Best I can do is take allergy tablets like zirtec and use cream. I am nearly crying every night in frustration, it is just awful. Not bed bugs but I'm not so sure it's mozzies any more... Glad I'm not the only one ..!

Yes, the whole family over the last 4 days and my ginger baby horse has been eaten alive poor girlie :-(

They look odd, but they do work. You can get them in chemists - Boots, Superdrug, Lloyds etc. and I've seen them in Tescos.

So WTF are they then? Mosquitos or what? Got them behind my knees, got 2 huge bites on bum/thigh through jods and on itchy bits on back I can't reach? Like type kitty am waking itching in the night, have changed my bed (horses out atm), no animals in house so therefore flea free(?)

Thanks Justjasper, yeah, got 2 but they don't really work on me I swell up badly with some and got a wasp sting the other day as well!

I wish I knew... bedding is clean and my OH isn't bitten at all! Doc says it's definitely a reaction to mosquito bites but never in my life have I a) been bitten this much over such a period of time and b) reacted in such a way. I'm Australian and have NEVER had a problem with them. Must be a different breed over here!

When we were away for Burghley, didn't get bitten at all so I'm convinced it's something living in the room. No pets, doc said it's not bed bugs so I have no clue.

Funnily enough, my OH doesn't get it either but I think it's something from outside as I live in the country..(aah)!

I'm glad it's not just me!! I've also been bitten several times on the shoulders, stomach and ankles in the last few days!!!!

I think I know what it is! OH and I were just talking about it and he start looking up insects online that bite. He came across dust mites. The bites look the same as mosquito bites and they can cause quite a reaction. Does that sound right to you? I think that's what it is for me. (I'd like to think so anyway because i couldn't stand bed bugs!)

Am itching just reading the posts!!!!
Me and Gareth have about 7 bites between us....found the culprit today a huge mozzie i squatted it on wall and it left red blood on the wall!!!!!!!!!!

Methinks you get a lot of mozzies in Scotland? Am just off to look at dustmites as house is not very clean due to living outside for most of the summer!!!

Just found harvest mites too, have had them on the horses legs before, didn't know they could get people..now more itchy than ever-psychsomatic?

Psychosomatic, I think so, for me anyway as far as the thought of bed bugs go! Much prefer dust mites... Like every other morning, I've waken up with fresh bites, same sort of areas, lower legs and hands. Believe it or not, I have 19 on my left leg alone, between my lower thigh and ankle.
