Hello,

I have a welsh d that is good as gold most of the time.

But just recently on funrides normally half way through he completely loses it with me holding him together, even when i havent got any contact.

He gets himself into such a state that he rufuses to move and when he does he blows up,goes backwards, rears anything but go forward when i ask him. I don't kick/smack - ever! - him or shout at him as he is very sensitive and that just makes him worse so i have to get off and walk for at least 10mins for him to settle down.

He's not scared or anything like that! He just gets so excited it he loses it and i was thinking of using an instant calmer for my next funride.

I was wondering if it will work or not for what he does as i don't really like walking funrides :)

Please any coments or recomendations.

Thank you

:D

One of my friends uses Instant magic (NAF) to take the edge off hers for competitions and says it really helps.... he is a TB.

I have used NAF instant magic on my mare a few times before fun rides and autumn hunting. I have really makes a difference... wether it is because i feel more relaxed because I have done something about her excitability or wether it really does have a physiological effect I don't know but if it works does it matter??

Another vote for Instant Magic.

We used it when we started taking our boy out jumping again after he hadn't competed for a while. Worked a treat!!!

The only thing I would say though is that he did get some poles on those outings. More recently we have stopped giving it to him and although he is a little sharper he is also a lot more careful ;)

Not sure if it's a case of him improving the more he goes out or the lack of calmer making him dopey!!!
