Someone suggested this to me today instead of sedaline to clip my neds legs and heads out, as one is a bugger with legs and the other with her head,
Does this work?? would it work for clipping?

Works wonders for head case mare but not for little bugger gelding, can't even get it on him. too clever for his own good!

If it's the one where you get 5 sachets in a tub then no - we tried it on our mare so we could hand graze her after a long period of box rest - still went mental! Now arranging for some ACP from the vet -

I have not had any luck with any calmers. TB mare i had nothing, touched her. Tried magic, oxishot, and one from equine america.

Tried instant magic calmer ion my 2 yr old hunter as show him in hand and at the 1st show last season he was a loon so i tried the magic for he 2nd show. No difference!! I wont be wasting my money in future!!

I don't think it would work for clipping, it only takes the edge off the horses and is magnesium based so would only work if your horse has a magnesium defficiency (sp)
They're quite cheap though so might be worth a try, we had one funny with legs and we shoved a feed bowl under his nose and he was too busy eating to notice :p

I wish feeding would work KoKopelli but like i said to clever for own good, I think i will get a magic calmer and an oxy shot, it may just work on the old sod, i'm sure its worth a go and if it doesn't work at least i'll know for the future.

You can get one in a syringe and one that you add to feed. You generally need to load dose first and can supplement with syringe as and when. Think its more to calm for shows /loading etc without affecting performance. Am sure they are magnesium based. Please correct me if i'm wrong. Not sure it would work for clipping though.

I dont think it would work for clipping, sorry!!! It cools my neddy down when hes stressed but like sombody said earlier, it only takes the edge off. Doest really relax them!! Id go for something like sedalin....can get it rom your vet for about £20
