Hi there, i have been lurking on here for sometime, but not been brave enough to post, yet! so here goes... I have a question please, for "theengineer" on older model Hauptner clippers, I have a pair of Hauptner clippers which I bought secondhand about 5 years ago, (think they are called the Electric Rapide Model?) they have worked just fine for me and i only clip my own horses about 5/6 times a year. but, I sometimes have problems getting the tension correct on them and when this happens they get very warm and the blades dont seem to cut as well and blunt up quickly would I still be able to get a user manual for them from anywhere so i understand how to set the tension and use them properly. any advice gratefully recevied.thanks
:-)

Hey, I know yours is an old question but did you make any headway with the tension thing ? I am also in the same boat . . .long time since last clipped, perfect clippers but not a clue in my memory how to tension them . . help !? PLEASE ? :(

When i previously used them (electric rapide) they were brilliant, went on forever, never heated up. I have had a long break and cannot remember the setting ! Thought it was Fully tighten then back 3 turns , any one know ? Otherwse loved 'em, old but sturdy and reliable :)

Hopefully copying this url will take you to the Manual on the Peasridge website which you could then print off. Hauptners are a little tricky to tension as you have to gradually tighten a little at a time while listening to the sound they make. Sadly, the tighten fully, then undo 1 1/2 turns method doesn't work with Hauptners!

If the url doesn't work, go to Peasridge website, select clipper advice from menu at top of page, then latest updates from drop down menu, then Hauptner.

Hope this helps...

I have hauptner 2000 ones and love them i would just say the tension skrew is quite long. its normaly on most clippers as said 1 1/2 turns from tight. too tight and will over heat too loose wont clip right and will catch hair
