Hello, have been lurking for a while but be interested in your opinions as i have a dilemma. i have a great instructor who has helped me a lot in terms of improving my riding and my horse's way of going. however, she is also quite unreliable. she always lets me know if lesson is going to be cancelled but often this will be on the same day...for a range of reasons e.g. its raining a lot, traffic is bad, friend's horse has had an accident. now its not every week and i realise that sometimes things 'come up' but over the two years that she's taught me the instances are starting to stack up- to the point where i feel that i've had enough. i feel a bit like they are deciding when they can be bothered to come and teach me? is that bad? (i know for a fact that some of the cancellations have been made up excuses but most i think are genuine). i just start thinking that its not terribly professional? do other instructors do this? (it seems quite normal on my yard so everyone has advised me to just carry on as i like the way she teaches etc)
the thing is...i was just carrying on but i only have lesson every other week and am really busy at work so if i miss a lesson it then turns into 4 weeks without a lesson. i have found another instructor who i will have to drive to to have lessons but she is supposed to be VERY good- competes at grand prix- am thinking of just having her instead- yes she's more expensive, but i could just go to her 1x per month and hopefully progress more quickly? sorry, a bit rambling, really don't know what to do!
