Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good flat work instructor in the North York area.

Could you give me a rough idea what they charge and why you use them.

Thanks everyone

Sue Hirst in Terrington - £30 per 45mins. She is a very good all reound instructor.

Heidi and Ian Woodhead at West Lilling - Heidi is a flat and jumping, ian is dressage. I think heidi charges £35 and i am not sure about Ian

There is also Margot Tiffany at Northallerton EC and Moray Nicholson at Thornton Watlass.

I use Sue Hirst!

PM me if you want anymore details!

Don't think so, apart from northalleron equestrian centre but thats more about their competioons. Where about in north Yorkshire are u? I may know of some more!!

I'm between York and Malton. If it was specifically dressage you wanted, Becky Moody visits Thornthorpe Equestrian once a month. There is also the odd clinic (usually organised through local riding clubs) at Askam Bryan!

Good luck!

Are you in York & District Riding Club? Margo Tiffany comes to teach members usually every couple of weeks and it works out around £15 an hour, but that's through the RC. I reckon she'd be a fortune if you hired her independently. Sue Joy is also very good and she has her own indoor school. Message me if you want any more info, as I'm in York too.

I use Jo Watts, she certainly covers your area, £35 for an hour - not sure if she charges for travel as I live where she is. Her contact number is 07971 342445.
I have lessons and love it because she flexes how she teaches to each rider, so how she teaches me is totally different to how she teaches OH. Also, I find that she works on what you ask her to rather than what she thinks and is quite happy to help someone like me get better within my own level.

Pp, sound interesting, I have a backward thinking type, who you need to keep sessions short so I'm looking for someone who is happy to look outside the box.
