Hi, just needing some help??

I’ve been in a racing for years always riding with short stirrups etc... and ive now come out of racing and sat in a normal all purpose saddle for the first time.

I have a thoroughbred which I use to ride in training for point to points, I now want to do ROR with him, but I honestly don’t know where to start, I jump and he runs off, and I’m clueless with flat work.

So I’m looking for instructors to help with abit of everything... flat work, jumping everything.

I’m based next to Nantwich! If anyone knows any good instructors please!! (Thank you in advance) xxx

You are about half an hour from Somerford which is a huge equestrian centre that runs clinics, camps and competitions in every discipline.
I'd start there.

Trainers have used there are Maddy Moffet (eventing), Alice Beasley (dressage), Mark Cramb (eventing).

For showjumping, you are also not far from Beaver Hall Equestrian Centre. There are showjumping lessons there over a full set of jumps every Monday and Tuesday with Vicky Bentley or Maddy Moffett and regular dressage clinics with lots of trainers. And a full programme of dressage and SJ competitons.

For specific RoR retraining you could contact Emma Lebutt at Ivanhoe Equestrian. She also runs the Little Brown Horse facebook page. She takes on retired race horses and events them and is a level 3 coach. I have not used her personally but have heard good things!

Good luck.

You probably need someone that is a bit of an all-rounder when it comes to training, personally I would recommend Andrew Heffernan at Somerford Park. He is a brillant instructor especially on the flat, he would be able to get you going no problem.
